Affiliate disclosure at a glance
- How we are funded
- Commission from bookmaker affiliate programmes
- Cost to you
- Nothing. Same prices and offers as going direct
- How adverts look
- Marked with a black “Ad” label and 18+ terms
- Opening times
- Never paid for, never changed for a partner
- Branch listings
- Sorted by distance, not by commission
If you click an advert and then open an account or bet with that bookmaker, we may be paid. That is the whole arrangement, and the rest of this page explains it in detail.
Who we are
Bet Opening Times is an independent directory of opening times for licensed betting shops in Great Britain.
The site is owned and run by G.J.A Tech Ventures Ltd. You can contact us at
We are not a bookmaker. We do not take bets, hold customer funds or hold a Gambling Commission operating licence. Bet Opening Times is not owned, operated or endorsed by Betfred, Done Brothers (Cash Betting) Limited or any other gambling company, and does not speak on their behalf. We are a commercial partner of some bookmakers through affiliate advertising only.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a tracked link to a bookmaker’s website or app.
When you click one, the bookmaker, or the network that runs its affiliate programme, records that you arrived from Bet Opening Times. If you then register, deposit or bet, the bookmaker may pay us a fee.
Affiliate links are advertising. Under the UK Advertising Codes, marketing has to be obviously identifiable as marketing, so every affiliate link on this site is labelled. The next two sections show who we work with and exactly what the label looks like.
Who we work with
We only link to bookmakers licensed by the Gambling Commission to take bets from customers in Great Britain.
We also publish opening times for bookmakers we have no commercial relationship with. Those pages are written to the same standard and appear in search results in exactly the same way.
How adverts are labelled
You should never have to guess whether a button will take you to a bookmaker.
Every affiliate advert on the site sits inside a black-bordered panel with an “Ad” label and the 18+ terms beside it. It looks like this:
18+ only. New customers only. Significant terms and conditions apply.
Example only. The buttons above are not links.
- Advert buttons say where they go, such as “Visit Betfred Online”. They are never dressed up as a site tool.
- Our own tools, such as the live opening times panel, “Use my current location”, Google Maps directions and the nearby shops list, stay on this site or open a map. They never send you to a bookmaker.
- On shop pages, a slim advert bar can appear at the top of the screen as you scroll. It carries the same “Ad” label and terms, and you can close it with the × button.
- Affiliate links are tagged in our code with
rel="sponsored", so search engines recognise them as paid too. - Every page repeats a short advertising disclosure in the footer and links back here.
How we are paid
Bookmaker affiliate programmes pay in one of three ways, and the terms vary by programme.
| Model | How it works |
|---|---|
| One-off fee CPA | A single payment when someone we referred opens an account and meets a qualifying condition, such as a first deposit or first bet. |
| Revenue share | A percentage of the bookmaker’s net revenue from customers we referred, usually for as long as they remain customers. |
| Hybrid | A smaller one-off fee plus a smaller revenue share. |
Plainly put: under revenue share, we can earn more when referred customers lose more. We think you should know that. It is one of the reasons we never encourage anyone to bet more than they meant to.
We do not sell sponsored articles, paid placements or paid positions in our listings.
What commission does not change
This site exists to answer one question well: is the shop open, and when does it close? Commercial arrangements have no bearing on that answer.
Opening times are not for sale
The hours we publish are compiled from publicly available sources, premises licence records and our own checks. No bookmaker can pay to change them, and none sees them before they go live.
Branch lists are not ranked by commission
Nearby shop lists and search results are sorted by distance, closest first. Shops from bookmakers we have no deal with appear alongside those we do, in the same order they would appear anyway.
Partners have no editorial say
Bookmakers do not review, approve or edit our pages. If a partner’s shop is shut on a bank holiday, the page says so.
Before you travel: opening times are a guide and can change at short notice. Always confirm with the branch before a late or long journey.
Offers, free bets and promotions
Every offer mentioned on this site is run by the bookmaker, not by us.
Offers are for customers aged 18 and over in Great Britain, are subject to the bookmaker’s own terms and conditions, and can change or be withdrawn without notice. Read the full terms on the bookmaker’s site before you sign up or deposit. If what we show ever differs from the bookmaker’s current terms, the bookmaker’s terms apply, and we would be grateful if you told us so we can correct it.
Tracking and your data
Clicking an advert passes a tracking identifier to the bookmaker so the referral can be credited to us.
The bookmaker may then set its own cookies on your device. We never receive your name, contact details, account details or betting history. We see anonymised reports, such as the number of sign-ups and the commission due.
The live panel and “Use my current location” button work in your browser. Your location is only used to sort nearby shops and is not sent to any bookmaker.
For more on cookies and personal data, see our privacy and cookies policy.
Safer gambling
Gambling is for adults aged 18 and over. This site is not intended for anyone under 18.
Set a budget before you bet, never chase losses, and stop when it stops being fun. Betting shops operate Think 21, so take photo ID if you look under 21. If gambling is causing you or someone close to you a problem, free and confidential help is available.

Questions, corrections and complaints
Tell us if a link is not labelled clearly or an opening time is wrong.
Email
Complaints about a bet, an account or an offer need to go to the bookmaker concerned, as we cannot see or influence your account. If you are unhappy with how we have advertised something, you can also contact the Advertising Standards Authority.
We update this page whenever our commercial relationships, or the way we label them, change. The date at the top shows the last revision.
Frequently asked questions
- Does clicking an advert cost me anything?
- No. You pay the same, and get the same offers, whether you reach a bookmaker through our link or go direct.
- Are opening times affected by who pays you?
- No. Opening times and nearby shop lists are published the same way for every bookmaker, whether or not we have a commercial relationship with it.
- Is Bet Opening Times owned by a bookmaker?
- No. We are independent. We earn commission from some bookmakers through their affiliate programmes, but none of them own, run or edit this site.
- How do I know which links are adverts?
- Adverts sit in a black-bordered panel with an “Ad” label and 18+ terms. Buttons for our own tools, such as maps, directions and location search, are never adverts.
- Who do I contact about a problem with a bet or offer?
- The bookmaker you placed it with. We have no access to customer accounts.
