Lincoln has seven Betfred shops and one clear late option. 85 High Street, south of the railway towards Sincil Bank, runs 08:30 to 22:00 Monday to Saturday and 09:00 to 22:00 on a Sunday; every other branch closes between 20:30 and 21:00 on weekdays and between 18:00 and 20:00 on a Sunday. The mornings are uniform — all seven open at 08:30 on weekdays and 09:00 on a Sunday. Full published weekly times are available for every branch.

These two are the busiest and longest-trading of the seven, but they differ sharply in the evening. 85 High Street runs to 22:00 on every day of the week; 350 High Street closes at 21:00 Monday to Saturday and 20:00 on a Sunday, though it is the only Lincoln branch to open at 08:00 on a Saturday. The High Street is crowded with rivals: a Coral at 100a and a William Hill at 154, both open to 22:00, and a Ladbrokes at 326. Distances are straight-line estimates from the Stonebow. Street View opens at the shop’s position, so you may need to turn the view to face the shopfront.

The mornings could hardly be more uniform: all seven open at 08:30 on weekdays and 09:00 on a Sunday. The evenings are where they separate. 85 High Street holds 22:00 every day; 350 High Street and the Carlton Centre close at 21:00 on weekdays; the other four at 20:30. Saturday evening shortens to 20:00 at the five neighbourhood shops, and Sunday evening runs from 18:00 at Lowfields to 22:00 at 85 High Street.

Earliest and latest Betfred shops in Lincoln

Full weekly times are published for all seven branches, so this section covers every shop on the page.

Open earliest

All seven open at 08:30 Monday to Friday. On a Saturday, 350 High Street opens at 08:00, the earliest Betfred start in Lincoln; the rest hold 08:30. On a Sunday all seven open at 09:00. The Coral at 100a High Street opens at 08:00 every day, so for a weekday bet before half eight it is the nearest option.

Open latest

85 High Street closes at 22:00 on every day of the week and is the only Lincoln Betfred that does. 350 High Street and the Carlton Centre close at 21:00 on weekdays, and Woodhall Drive, Lowfields, Birchwood and The Forum at 20:30. After 21:00 on any evening, 85 High Street is the only Betfred open in the city.

The one to remember: 85 High Street is Lincoln’s late shop — 22:00 every day, Sunday included, and the nearest Betfred to Sincil Bank. Every other branch in the city closes by 21:00.

Betfred Lincoln Sunday opening times

Every Lincoln branch opens at 09:00 on a Sunday, but only one stays open into the evening.

Betfred Lincoln bank holiday opening times

Betting shops in England can trade on every bank holiday bar one. Premises licences issued under the Gambling Act 2005 carry a condition that gambling facilities cannot be provided on Christmas Day, so all seven Lincoln branches close on 25 December by law rather than by choice.

On the other bank holidays, Lincoln branches usually run either their normal times for that day of the week or a slightly shorter day. Betfred’s own shop notices in Lincoln have stated that all shops close at 20:00 on bank holiday Mondays, which would take two hours off 85 High Street and half an hour to an hour off the rest. Dates in the tables below update automatically.

Easter opening times

Betting shops have been allowed to open on Good Friday since the Gambling Act 2005 came into force, and there is no Easter Sunday restriction in Great Britain. Across the Easter weekend, expect each Lincoln branch to follow its usual pattern for that day.

Easter moves each year. Dates shown are the next Easter weekend.

May and August bank holidays

The early May, spring and summer bank holidays all fall on a Monday. Check the window card or the Betfred shop finder the week before; a 20:00 bank holiday close would take up to two hours off the Lincoln branches.

All three fall on a Monday, so the dates shift each year.

Christmas and New Year opening times

The festive fortnight is the only stretch of the year when Lincoln times move far from the weekly pattern. Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve normally finish early, Boxing Day — the biggest racing day of the winter — runs close to normal, and New Year’s Day starts later.

The Christmas Day closure is a licence condition under the Gambling Act 2005. Next dates update automatically.

Each Lincoln branch sets its own festive times and usually posts them in the window from mid-December. The live countdowns on this page follow the standard weekly times and the Christmas Day closure only, so check the window card before travelling on 24, 26 or 31 December or 1 January.

How the live opening times work

Everything live on this page reads the clock in Lincoln (UK time), not the clock on your device, and compares it against each shop’s published times. That keeps the status right even if you are checking from abroad.

The panel at the top

The top panel covers the two High Street branches in the city centre. It tells you how many are open right now, which is next to close, and how long until the last one shuts for the night. Since 85 High Street is the latest-closing shop in Lincoln every day, the panel’s evening countdown holds for the whole city.

The shop rows

Open now means the shop is inside its published times and the countdown shows how long is left. Closed shows when it opens next. Counters stop taking cash bets a few minutes before closing so staff can settle slips, so if you are collecting winnings, aim to arrive ten minutes before the time shown.

Map, directions and Street View

Each row has three buttons. Map drops a pin on the shop, Directions plans a route from wherever you are, and Street View shows the street around the shop so you can spot the frontage before you set off. Tap “Use my current location” and the lists re-order themselves so the closest shop is always at the top, and the directions button points to the nearest of all seven Lincoln branches.

Betfred across the rest of Lincoln

Five more branches serve the neighbourhoods: the Carlton Centre and Woodhall Drive to the north-east, and Lowfields, Birchwood and The Forum in North Hykeham to the south and west. All five publish full weekly times.

Directions work without this. Sharing your location re-orders every list nearest-first.

The Carlton Centre sits near a Coral on Wragby Road and a Ladbrokes on Nettleham Close; Lowfields and Birchwood are nearest to the Coral on Boultham Park Road. The Forum is in North Hykeham, which is a separate town licensed by North Kesteven District Council.

Betfred near Lincoln

Lincoln sits in the middle of Lincolnshire, and the nearest Betfred branches outside the city are some distance away.

Grantham, twenty-five miles south, has a Betfred of its own, and Newark lies sixteen miles south-west across the Nottinghamshire border. Gainsborough, Market Rasen and Sleaford have betting shops but no current Betfred listing. The licensing register also carries two further Lincoln-area entries: 5 High Street (LN5 8BG) and 259–261 Lincoln Road in North Hykeham (LN6 8NH). Neither appears in current listings, so we have not counted them.

Six of the seven branches are licensed by City of Lincoln Council; The Forum in North Hykeham falls under North Kesteven District Council. If you are heading for Grantham, Newark or Gainsborough rather than Lincoln itself, use the location button above: the directions button always routes to the nearest of the seven Lincoln branches.

Other bookmakers in Lincoln

Lincoln is one of the few cities covered on this site where Betfred has more shops than any other bookmaker.

Coral has four shops in Lincoln, including 100a High Street, 290 Wragby Road, 149 Burton Road and 279 Boultham Park Road. Ladbrokes has three, among them 326 High Street, 23 Guildhall Street and Nettleham Close, and William Hill trades at 154 High Street.

We are still confirming full weekly times branch by branch for the non-Betfred shops in Lincoln, so they are not listed with live status on this page yet. The High Street is the stretch to know: two Betfreds, a Coral, a William Hill and a Ladbrokes, with the Coral and William Hill both open to 22:00 alongside 85 High Street. Every bookmaker in the city is closed on Christmas Day by law.

Betfred began in Salford in 1967, when brothers Fred and Peter Done opened their first betting shop, and it runs its estate from Birchwood in Warrington, about 110 miles west — not to be confused with the Birchwood estate in Lincoln, which has its own Betfred. Lincoln has seven branches, the most of any bookmaker in the city: two on the High Street and five in the neighbourhood shopping centres, including one across the boundary in North Hykeham.

For visitors, 350 High Street is the one to know by location: a few minutes from Lincoln Central station and the Cornhill, and a short walk from the Brayford waterfront, with the Cathedral and Castle up Steep Hill to the north. For an evening bet or a Lincoln City match at Sincil Bank, 85 High Street is the better choice: nearer the ground and open until 22:00 every day.

Frequently asked questions

How many Betfred shops are there in Lincoln?
Seven: 85 and 350 High Street in the city centre, the Carlton Centre and Woodhall Drive on the north-east side, and the Lowfields Centre, Birchwood and The Forum in North Hykeham to the south and west. Six are licensed by City of Lincoln Council and The Forum by North Kesteven District Council. The licensing register also lists 5 High Street and 259–261 Lincoln Road in North Hykeham, neither of which appears in current listings.
What time does Betfred open in Lincoln?
Every Lincoln branch opens at 08:30 Monday to Friday. On a Saturday, 350 High Street opens earlier at 08:00 and the rest at 08:30. All seven open at 09:00 on a Sunday.
What time does Betfred close in Lincoln?
85 High Street closes at 22:00 every day of the week. 350 High Street and the Carlton Centre close at 21:00 on weekdays, and the other four at 20:30. On a Saturday everything except the two High Street shops closes at 20:00.
Which Betfred in Lincoln is open latest on a Sunday?
85 High Street, until 22:00. 350 High Street closes at 20:00, Lowfields at 18:00 and the other four at 19:00, so on a Sunday evening 85 High Street is the only Betfred open in Lincoln.
Is Betfred open on Christmas Day?
No. Every betting shop in Great Britain is closed on Christmas Day. It is a condition attached to premises licences under the Gambling Act 2005, not a company decision.
Are Betfred shops in Lincoln open on bank holidays?
Yes. Good Friday, Easter Monday and the May and August bank holidays are all trading days. Betfred’s own Lincoln shop notices have stated that all shops close at 20:00 on bank holiday Mondays, so expect two hours off 85 High Street and a shorter evening everywhere else. Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve normally close early, and New Year’s Day opens later.
Which Betfred is nearest to Lincoln station and Sincil Bank?
350 High Street is the closer of the two High Street shops to Lincoln Central station and the Cornhill, about a quarter of a mile away. For Lincoln City at Sincil Bank, 85 High Street is the nearest, about a third of a mile north-west of the ground — and it is also the one open latest after an evening match.
How do I find the nearest Betfred to me in Lincoln?
Tap “Use my current location”. Every list on this page then re-orders nearest-first, and the directions button at the top routes you to the closest of the seven Lincoln Betfred shops.
